The intention of this response for a memorial was to experience a portion of the Berlin Wall not as a fragment but within a reflective space one could walk through. The ground of the former death-strip was elevated to form a gently sloping berm which stops short of the Wall to form a slot of space. Visitors can occupy this space or the surfaces of the berm which rise to the top of the Wall.
